Throughout this module i have learnt a lot about my self as a design and my self personally, i have realised it is a necessity for me to manage my time more effectively in many cases i have been known to leave myself a lot of work until the last minute however throughout this module i had worked so hard getting my work finished and producing it to a very high standard however i underestimated the time it would take to then put all of this work together for my hand in submissions i found myself struggling to get all all of the information together for submission.
However on a positive note this has been by far one of the effective modules for me in terms of increasing the quality of my work and it has allowed me to experiment with a lot of different areas within design direction as well as pushing this with many different mediums and definitely improving my skills within print.
This module offered me a great opportunity to work within areas of design that interest me and that i want to work within in the future. Branding and Identity was my main focus i wanted to really push this as far as i possibly could so i have based most of my projects within this module around this area of design. I feel that it is obvious to see that most of my time went into the creation my branding and Identity work. I feel it is obvious how much time i put into this area with the quality and how far i have pushed this area within this module. Another benefit of this freedom is that i have been able to look into advertising within graphic design this gave me the opportunity to contact professionals within the industry this not only gave me industrial contacts but it has also gave me and insight into how the proffesionals approach designs.
However the main thing i have learnt within this responsive module is from the collaborative brief before undergoing this module i would have never thought about working with someone with a completely different skill set to me. Working with Andy has been a real eye opener to me i found that working with him has shown me how although our skill sets are the opposite we where able to collaborate to produce in my opinion one of the most effective and innovative design out comes we have both ever produced. I feel that the main benefit of working collaboratively is that it gave me the confidence to push ideas that i would normally be to hesitant to propose. I feel this is obvious within the concepts i have generated within the Fedrigoni Brief and the Heinz 69 concept.
In terms of things id change about my progress throughout this module, is time management towards the end. I should have allowed myself more time to properly evaluate my work for the hand in boards. and even for the project report i could have gone into much more detail. I underestimated the amount i still had to do towards the end i will never make this mistake again.
Overall i feel that this module has been amazing for me in terms of the development of my skills when presenting my work professionally i feel this is down to the fact we where entering competitions within this module and this now means we can carry this on and develop these skills this will be beneficial for future pitches and future competitions. I feel from this module i have also now gained a great deal of confidence and i feel this is apparent with my design now. I feel that this module is something that will be carried on i feel that i will now look for competitions to enter and briefs to respond to.

Responsive: Deeb Brothers Merchant bankers and private equity firm.
The Deeb brothers was without doubt my favourite brief that i worked on through out theis module the initial brief was to create a logo design for a Merchant Banker and Private Equity firm.
design a logo that exudes elegance and class for a merchant banking and private equity firm with international scope. corporate colours are black, gold and grey.
I decided to take a very corporate approach to this brief as the brief stated the logo must be formidable corporate and communicate a strong legacy behind the logo and branding. It was very effective for me to look at the target audience and competitors designs.
I found that a lot of the existing logos used Iconic symbols to communicate certain messages to the audience, The crossed eagles are to represent protection and security. I looked into what the audience looked for within their bank and then tried to communicate these visually. Protection Security, Elegance and universal.
I then went onto push this logo design onto the full identity of the company, i decided this was a great opportunity for me to really develop my print skills and to explore how print and stock choice can be used too communicate. For example the Gold stamp not only represents the high quality element of the design but also the use of gold is always used to represent the best.
I feel the image below shows that i have applied my research into branding & Identity into my own design choices as you can see from the the following images i feel i have effectively created a range of products that work as a brand effectively. And visually work together to create a brand identity that reflects the ethos of the company. I have found from this brief that every single part of a design must be for a reason as i will explain.
Stock choices and print techniques can communicate these message as well for example the stock choice was a beautiful thick pulp textured paper, i not only selected this as it would be most effective with the emboss but also down to the tactile feel of the stock the quality of the stock represents the quality of the company in may senses.
The Gold stamp is not only to look beautiful but it also represents Importance and again high quality also the colour choice of gold not only runs alongside the brief but gold is often a symbol of the winner or the best i feel this is without doubt effective for this company as this is a key feature you want from your merchant banker.
I then decided to push this brief Further and further by creating the web design aspect of the company branding, i though it would be a great opportunity for me to see how my skills where in terms of applying my brand across a range of medium. I believe i have communicated the elegance of the brand with the aesthetics of the web design aspects.
The side scroll of the web design is elegant and makes for a design that has simple but effective navigation system i have then shown how the navigation system can be applied then to the web based design view on a Phone and Ipad.
