Responsive: EmmaJane Logo

The EmmaJane Brief was one that i found whilst looking on Design Crowd, i found the brief asking for a logo to be created for a fashion label. The logo was to move away from the flirty, girly design direction as this to me comes across as cheap and tacky. The logo design was to be Modern and Fashion forward i feel i have really benefited from looking at high end fashion labels i have found that simplicity is generally the most effective so i decided to follow this approach.

The combination of san serif and Serif sub heading is really effective in my opinion as i feel the sub heading gives off a feeling of elegance and expense where as the san serif gives of a bold modern statement.

The reflection of the E on the end of emma jane was at first really just for aesthetic reasons however after looking back at my design i feel that it does give off the message that it is locked like it is a statement that is here to stay. And the removal of the crossbars on the capital A communicates progression and moving forward as well as giving of the modern future aesthetic.

Task Description
Hello, I require new logo for my fashion label - EMMAJANE. We are re-launching the website and logo together.

We are based in Australia and looking to extend internationally, so hoping to get a logo that stands out and becomes well known.

ABOUT EMMAJANE
Website - www.emmajane.com.au
Please note the website is also being re-done in the next couple of weeks.
Target Market – Women 18 to 35
Vision - The vibe is casual, classy and elegant. The pieces are eye-catching with eclectic detailing and intricate beading embellishments, mixed with colourful prints and alluring silhouettes.
Colours - Tones of ivory, coral, violet, blue and tangerine.
Favourite Designers - Alice McCall, Bec & Bridge, Camilla, Zimmerman and COCO Chanel.

CURRENT ISSUES WITH THE LOGO
Font – is called luna - The J hangs down too low and makes it difficult to put in the corner of creative or on the website – as you would of seen.
I have had a few issues with customers/boutiques/bloggers spelling EMMAJANE wrong (i.e EmmaJane, emma jane, Emma Jane). So I would like to change from small case (as shown on website) to large case and ALL one word - EMMAJANE

NEW LOGO DESIGN
Colours – all one colour
Text – San Serif (don’t like serif)
I would like to see a creative design that isn’t too tizzy. I want to stir away from that flirty/girly image to more fashion forward image.
I am also happy to see symbols with the EJ, however I think this might confuse people and I probably wouldn’t use this that much.
Maybe in the EMMAJANE, the E & J are different?

I look forward to seeing your creative designs.
Thanks,
EMMAJANE
