Web Design: Key Principles_
This morning we where Given our new brief that looks at exploration into web design, We then took our exploration into web design further by taking what we found in our web design task that was to look at we classed as good web design and bad web design. We then all came together as a group to combine what we had found to create two lists of aspects of web design we felt made a design effective and what failed to be effective.
What makes a good web design_
Should be able to find "Any page from Any Page"
Clear links - Fluid layouts
Simplicity - easy to navigate: Consistant navigation
Simplicity with colours do not overuse colours
Grid layout/ Images
Unique layouts
un offensive use of typography:
What makes a bad web design_
The over use of colour
Garish backgrounds and typographic elements
Blue/Underlined hyperlinks
Animations and gifs, competitive attention, flashing, pixelation, size and compression
Images - Overcrowding edgy layout, loading time, Messy design
Navigation and usability, interlinking and layout confusing and quantity of links./Info/Images for links broken links.
